“From crushing batsmen’s toes to receiving lifted on shoulders”: Mumbai Indians bids farewell to Lasith Malinga

Veteran Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga introduced his retirement from the shortest structure of the gentlemen’s match on Tuesday.

Malinga posted a concept on social media even though saying his determination. He also posted a movie on his YouTube channel, displaying a compilation of his wickets in the T20s.

“Hanging up my #T20 footwear and #retiring from all sorts of cricket! Grateful to all individuals who supported me in my journey, and seeking ahead to sharing my knowledge with younger cricketers in the decades to occur,” he captioned the movie.

The 38-yea-outdated even more expressed gratitude to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and thanked his franchise groups.

Malinga experienced explained to his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) that he wished to retire from franchise cricket this calendar year consequently, he was not retained in the squad for the 14th IPL year.

Malinga is the best wicket-taker in the background of IPL. Amit Mishra, the next-best wicket-taker, has 166 scalps to his title and is even now 4 wickets guiding the ‘yorker king’.

Malinga also stays the best wicket-taker in T20 internationals, with 107 wickets. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan is just one wicket guiding him.
