The US armed service killed senior al-Qaeda chief Abdul Hamid al-Matar in a drone strike in Syria on Friday, a US Central Command spokesman reported.
“The elimination of this al-Qaeda senior chief will disrupt the terrorist organization’s skill to even further plot and have out world assaults threatening US citizens, our associates, and harmless civilians,” US Military Big John Rigsbee reported in a composed assertion.
The strike arrives two times right after a US outpost in southern Syria was attacked. Rigsbee did not say if the US drone strike was carried out in retaliation.
