Water provide in some components of Delhi will be disrupted on Sunday as the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) will repair the leakage below a flyover in the Hauz Khas location. The water board tweeted about the repair operate late on Saturday following a portion of the road on the stretch caved in.
“Due to repair of leakage below Hauz Khas IIT fly more than, the morning and evening water provide on 01.08.2021 in the places of Sarvodaya Enclave, Sarvapriya Vihar, Azad Apartments, Kalu Sarai, Begumpur, Ber Sarai, Jia Sarai, Aspect of Adchini. Katwaria Sarai, Mehrauli, Green Park,Hauz Khas, RK Puram and adjoining places will be impacted,” the Delhi Jal Board mentioned.
“Residents are requested to shop enough quantity of water,” DJB mentioned as it offered telephone numbers to contact for water tankers.
The board did not say when is the water provide is most likely to be restored.
The public performs division (PWD) mentioned the portion of the road caved in for the reason that of the leakage in an underground line of the Delhi Jal Board. “Our engineers are on the spot and are fixing the road. The road caved in for the reason that of an underground DJB line which is leaking,” PWD engineer-in-chief Shashi Kant told PTI.
“The leaking line eroded the road major to cave-in. It is getting attended on priority,” Kant added.
The portion of the road below the IIT-Delhi flyover caved in following heavy rains in the national capital in the final couple of days, affecting site visitors in the location on Saturday, officials mentioned. PWD’s assistant engineer UB Singh mentioned It was brought to notice to authorities among 9:30am to 10am.
“We barricaded the location and informed the site visitors division. It is not confirmed but the trigger can be a cracked sewer line connected to Delhi Jal Board. No 1 was injured,” UB Singh told ANI.
